Description
Original clutch type of the Vespa PX80: Ø108mm – 6 springs, 20 teeth.
This still has the so-called small clutch type with 108mm diameter and 6 springs. With 20 teeth it is the shortest of the available sprockets which can be used in combination with the original 67 or 68 tooth primary gears.
The modular design of the PX motors makes it possible to use this type of clutch on all other large frame motors, such as the PX125 or PX150. But there it shortens the original reduction ratio.
Cylinders with larger displacement should use a clutch with 21 or 22 teeth.
Note: Should this type of coupling be used in older vehicles such as VBB, VNB, GT, GTR orIf this type of clutch is to be used in older vehicles such as VBB, VNB, GT, GTR or similar, the clutch spacer plate must also be replaced with that of the newer models (3.3mm instead of 1.5mm, see accessories).
Newfren is the Italian original equipment manufacturer for Piaggio and our first choice in the field of standard 6 and 7 spring clutches. Reinforced version with 4 discs and thus increased friction surface. Often does not separate as cleanly as the 3-plate version, but can transmit more torque.
