Description
Original Piaggio main shaft.
The parts have the beginnings of rust due to the long storage, but offer the advantage of an original component with the high Piaggio quality standard at the time.
The main shafts correspond to that of the gearbox type Vespa PK (from the outside recognizable by the nut with M16 thread and safety cage). However, the PK gearbox type was already used in vehicles from 1976 (i.e. before the PK models, e.g. V50/PV125/ET3)*. The gearwheels suitable for this mainshaft type can be recognized by the marking ’42’, which can be read on the gearwheels.
With the appropriate matching gears, this mainshaft can also be used in the V50, PV125, ET3 engines. If a mainshaft with M14 castle nut was previously installed in your engine, the washer for the brake drum must be adapted (extend the inner diameter) and the nut together with the retaining cage of the PK models must be used. Alternatively, the brake drum including brake anchor plate of the PK models can be used.
*( V50 (V5A1T from No. 69444), V50 Special (V5B3T from No. 94315), V50 Elestart (V5B4T from No. 1514), PV125(VMA2T from No. 150203), ET3 (VMB1T from No. 8161))
