Description
INTAKE HOSE MALOSSI VESPA LARGEFRAME – DIAPHRAGM
Intake hose specially designed to be combined with the old (two-piece and no longer available) Malossi diaphragm intake manifold and a Dell’Orto PHBH28/30 carburettor.
Malossi offers a connecting rubber to the frame for both their rotary slides and their diaphragm intake manifolds. These offer the advantage of allowing the engine to draw in cooler air from the frame rather than warm air directly under the engine side cowl.
In addition, the corrugated profile of the hose has a positive effect on engine running, which quite often results in a higher engine spin out. The malossi rubbers are, depending on the temperature, a little unruly. For easier fitting, simply heat the rubber briefly with a hairdryer or in hot water.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ROTARY VALVE AND DIAPHRAGM
The only difference between the intake hose version for rotary vane and diaphragm is an aluminium adapter which is included with the version for use with diaphragm intake manifolds. This set is designed for the no longer available two-piece diaphragm intake manifold from the 1990’s. For the modern engine concepts with Malossi engine housing (VR-One) we offer from MRP intake hoses with Ø60mm cross-section, suitable for large carburetors up to Ø38mm, in our assortment.
TIP: PHBH carburettors with screwed-on air funnel (Ø=59mm) can be used very well with the standard intake rubber (our tip BGM2577). If this is too short you can use two such rubbers. Cut them asymmetrically apart and join them again at the ribs. If necessary, fix with some silicone.
