Piaggio significantly improved the braking performance of the front brake with the introduction of the so-called Lusso models (Italy: Arcobaleno, Spain: Iris, UK: EFL). The floating brake cam plays a key role in this. This can always center itself with the help of the bushing/mounting shown here and the brake shoes always lie cleanly on the radius of the drum. This technology also compensates for brake shoe wear.
The mount is fixed to the brake anchor plate with an M6 screw. Its contact pressure on the mount is limited by a bushing. This ensures that the mount always remains movable.
