Description
Original clutch type of the Vespa PX150: Ø108mm – 6 springs, 22 teeth.
This one still has the so-called small clutch type with 108mm diameter and 6 springs. With 22 teeth it has the largest available pinion that can be used in combination with all original primary gears (65,67 or 68 teeth).
The modular design of the PX motors makes it possible to use this type of clutch on all other large frame motors like the PX80 or PX125.
Recommended for all PX80/PX125 engines with a larger cylinder.
Cylinders with a displacement of 177ccm or more should be converted to the larger clutch type with 115mm Ø. These can cope with the higher torque permanently.
TIP: Especially recommended is the BGM Superstrong clutch which is not only indestructible but also very easy to operate.
Without modifications the coupling can be installed in the following models:
Note: Should this type of coupling be used in older vehicles such as VBB, VNB, GT, GTR orIf this type of clutch is to be used in older vehicles such as VBB, VNB, GT, GTR or similar, the clutch spacer disc must also be replaced with that of the newer models (3.3mm instead of 1.5mm, see accessories).
Newfren is the Italian original equipment manufacturer for Piaggio and our first choice in the field of standard 6 and 7 spring clutches. Reinforced version with 4 discs and thus increased friction surface. Often does not separate as cleanly as the 3-plate version, but can transmit more torque.

We recommend BGM Pro Street gear oil (BGM2025, complies with specification API GL-3) as lubricant.
