Original clutch type of the Vespa T5 125: Ø115mm – 7 springs, 20 teeth.

This large clutch type with 115mm diameter and 7 springs marks the middle field of the clutch types available for the large frame engines. It is already stable enough to function well even in powerful everyday engines.

With 20 teeth, this is the shortest of the available sprockets, which can be used in combination with the original primary gears with 67 or 68 teeth.
Due to the modular design of the PX motors, it is also possible to use this type of clutch on all other large frame motors, such as the PX80, PX125 or PX150. For these models, a small cast aluminium lug in the motor housing must be removed to mount the coupling. This can be easily bent with a larger pair of pliers. Some clutch covers require a minimum of material to be removed from the drip nose at 12 o’clock in the radius area.

This clutch is recommended as a replacement for all T5 125cc engines or as an unbreakable clutch for the PX80.Cylinders with a larger displacement should use a clutch with 21 or 22 teeth.

    Note: Should this type of coupling be used in older vehicles such as VBB, VNB, GT, GTR oretc., in addition to the changes to the engine housing and clutch cover already described, the clutch spacer plate must also be replaced with that of the newer models (3.3mm instead of 1.5mm, see accessories).
